Everyone has different reasons to support different causes.
When thinking of Gifting also think of Giving, and supporting charities that give back.
These are some that are personal, and local charities, that are important to me.
Feeding America
As we indulge, think of those without. As we carve the Turkey, serve up extra portions, think of those who cannot… There are 50 Million people in America and no one should be going hungry - we all need nutritious food to be available to all. Feeding America is an amazing organization that this season rather than reaching for seconds, or ordering extra, think of what you can donate.
Hope for Depression
While there are festivities and joy, think of those that feel overwhelmed, depressed, or worse. Hope for Depression helps fund the most innovative neuroscience research into the origins, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of depression, and its related mood disorders. At this time of togetherness be kind, be thoughtful, be sensitive and try to be more considerate to all moods, all personalities - spread joy but also spread compassion as liberally as tinsel.
St Jude’s Children’s Hospital
See life through a child’s eyes - with their hope and innocence - at Christmas and throughout the year. I am constantly inspired and in awe of the work and love of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. With your support they provide cutting-edge treatment with no cost to the families, they treat and help defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. They offer hope, and want every child to experience the magic of Christmas and beyond so this Holiday season, rather than an extra gift under the tree, donate to this - give the gift of health.
Make A Wish
A Dream is a Wish your Heart makes - and this amazing charity helps ensure that wishes really do come true. Help Make a Wish and all those dreams come true, think of the wishes you made, and look at the wishes they have granted and donate to help this fairy dust to continue spreading joy.
Ever After Garden
In Grosvenor Square, London, just behind the old American Embassy is a magical site where every year 30,000 illuminated white roses create the Ever After Garden, a garden of remembrance in the heart of Mayfair. Inspired by the late great Production Designer Michael Howells, who designed the film Ever After, is a garden where you can come and dedicate one of these magical roses to remember someone you have lost. Originally created by fashion writer Camilla Morton with designer Anya Hindmarch this garden is a place to come, pause and reflect, and beautifully captures the real meaning of the Holiday season - LOVE - and every rose dedicated is a donation to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
